JBR The Walk is one of the most popular tourist areas in Dubai. The beach, the walking area, and the occasional activities make this place perfect for an evening out. JBR is also home to multiple backpacker hostels, attracting tourists from all parts of the world. However, finding a nice, cheap place to eat can be a challenge as most options are high-end. If you are a tourist on a budget, you still need to find good places to eat without breaking the bank.

In this blog, I’ll talk about the five best restaurants in JBR The Walk for budget travelers. While most restaurants have their prices varying at 50-80 AED for any item, it is still cheaper than places like Vero or Estiatorio Milos, even Gordon Ramsey’s Street Pizza (which ironically doesn’t have anything to do with street and is located in a seven star hotel). Whether you’re craving local cuisine or international flavors, these restaurants will satisfy your taste buds and keep your wallet happy.
Price Comparision – JBR The Walk vs Bur Dubai
JBR The Walk is home to many chain restaurants. While they are not cheap, they are relatively affordable given how expensive Dubai can be. It’s important to note that the price of a sandwich in The Walk could get you a full meal in the Bur Dubai area. This creates a dilemma for budget backpackers and solo travelers like me because while the best hostels are in JBR, those in Bur Dubai or Deira lack a good crowd and amenities. So, even if you save on accommodation in JBR, you might end up spending that saved money on food.

For a single meal, expect to spend between 20 to 30 AED in The Walk area. Here are some places where you can enjoy meals under 30 AED:
- Tim Hortons: A cup of coffee and a bagel sandwich costs around 20 AED.
- Subway: A sub is priced at about 21 AED.
- KFC: Most combos cost around 30 AED.
- Carrefour: Buy ready-to-eat meals for hearty options under 15 AED.
- Texas Chicken: Most meals are priced at 16-20 AED.
But if you’re willing to spend a bit more and enjoy an evening of food and fun, here are a few places you should check out.

Walking and Feasting In The Walk
If you are planning a Dubai trip, then a visit to The Walk and having a meal there is a must. The Walk gives you an idea of how elegant and gorgeous Dubai is. Apart from the ones mentioned in my blog, you can also visit Cheesecake Factory, Catch 22, PF Chang’s, Five Guys, and Operation Falafel. Enjoy your time at the beach, walk around, and see the lights of Ain Dubai from afar.
The nearest metro is DMCC, from where you will need to catch a tram to JBR and walk to the beach.
