The Most Popular Trams Routes with Sightseeing Opportunities

Kolkata trams operate between from 4:30 AM to 10:45 PM. As a tourist, the best way to begin your tram sightseeing tour is at Esplanade, the heart of Kolkata, and hop on the route heading towards Park Street. This route provides a scenic ride past historic buildings and markets.

Alternatively, Balleygunge Depot is another convenient starting point, especially for those without a specific route in mind. This place has offering easy access to various tram lines. Tram no. 5, running from Shyambazar to Esplanade, is another popular choice, passing through College Street, famous for its book markets.
