As you stroll through the market, you’ll also encounter an array of colorful powders used by locals to create Rangoli patterns outside their homes. Amidst the hustle and bustle, the fragrance of Mysore Mallige, a unique variety of jasmine, fills the air, which is pretty soothing to experience.

The best time to visit Devaraja Market is from 4 PM onwards when the market comes alive with lighting, and the flower sales begin. This late afternoon and early evening period offers the right setting to click photos.

Devaraja Market is closed during Mysore Dussehra and other major festivals.

Devaraja market is not the right place to buy souvenirs from Mysore but in case you want to purchase something, make sure that you haggle a little bit to ensure that you are paying the right price.
